Since 1978, the Motion Picture and Television Fund (MPTF) has hosted the Heartbeat of Hollywood Golf Classic, where talented people from all parts of the entertainment industry come together to lend their unique skills to benefit a cause they are passionate about. The event annually attracts hundreds of golfers and guests to participate in the day’s festivities, which include the tournament, a dinner reception, games, awards, auctions and raffles. With activities for the entire family, the fundraising events celebrate the altruistic spirit of the entertainment community while sharing the mission of MPTF with donors and volunteers.

In the absence of other charities specifically designed to assist members of the motion picture and television industries through their unique challenges, MPTF was founded to help Hollywood take care of its own. Leveraging its resources in the entertainment industry, MPTF is able to bring the brightest film and television stars together to spread awareness and raise money through spectacular non-profit events. Fundraisers such as the Heartbeat of Hollywood Golf Classic enable MPTF to serve more than 150,000 people annually through a comprehensive range of programs, which include healthcare, wellness centers, aid and support services, senior services and retirement living communities.

It is only through fundraising events such as the Heartbeat of Hollywood Golf Classic and the continued support of its generous sponsors that the MPTF is able to carry on in its mission of serving entertainment industry members in need.
